| Alison's
Aquatic School welcomes students of all
ages, including adults. Swimming classes
offer individualized instruction in a 45
minute session, with 35 minutes of
instruction and 10 minutes of free swim.
Parents are invited to join in during free
swim. Students of different ages and/or
skill levels can be accommodated at the same
time, making the schedule convenient for
families with multiple children. Parents are
considered an important part of the learning
process and are encouraged to be present
during lessons. The student-teacher ratio is
usually not more than 5:1. Private or semi-private lessons can
be arranged. Children
ages 2-3 need to be accompanied by an adult in the
water. The Aquatic School began in
Alison's backyard pool during the summer of
1981 at the request of her friends and
neighbors. It soon blossomed into a
business. A larger pool designed especially
for teaching was opened in 2007. Since then,
many new features have been added, including
extended patios with picnic tables, a gazebo
and sitting areas to enjoy the pool and
spectacular view of Camel's Hump. The most
recent addition to the landscape is the
Garden of Hearts, a meditation place for
visitors to the pool. This private sanctuary
of trees and shrubs, planted in varying
sizes and shapes of hearts is a beautiful
setting for celebrations, parties, or
ceremonies. The extraordinary vista through
the meadow to Camel's Hump provides an
atmosphere which is both serene and
breathtaking. |
